Account & Data Deletion

You can delete your Magau account and the personal data linked to it at any time. This page explains exactly how, what is removed, and what we are required to keep.

1. Overview

Magau (मगाऊ) is operated by Bricks Education, a company based in Nepal. We believe deleting your data should be as simple as creating an account. You can permanently delete your Magau account and the personal data associated with it at any time, using either of the two methods below.

Deletion applies to the account you signed in with - identified by your registered mobile phone number. Once processed, deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

2. Delete from within the app

The quickest way is directly inside the Magau customer app:

Open the Magau app

Make sure you are signed in with the phone number for the account you want to delete.

Go to Profile

Tap the Profile tab at the bottom of the screen.

Open Support / Help

From Profile, open Support (Help & Support).

Request account deletion

Choose Request account deletion (delete my account) and confirm when prompted. We will verify the request and process it as described below.

Menu labels may vary slightly between app versions. If you cannot find the option, use the email method in the next section - it is equally valid.

3. Request by email

You can also ask us to delete your account by email. To protect your account, please send the request from a contact that lets us verify you are the account holder, and include the phone number registered to the account.

Include: the mobile phone number on your Magau account (in international format, e.g. +977…) so we can verify you before deleting anything.

We only use the information you provide to verify your identity and complete the deletion. We may contact you at your registered number or email if we need to confirm the request.

4. What gets deleted

When your deletion request is completed, we permanently remove the personal data tied to your identity, including:

  • Your profile - name, mobile phone number, and profile photo.
  • Saved delivery addresses and location pins.
  • Favourites, saved stores, cart contents, and search history.
  • Ratings and reviews that are tied to your identity.
  • Device and push-notification tokens linked to your account.
  • Support messages associated with your account.
  • Your Magau Wallet balance.

Please note: any remaining Magau Wallet balance is forfeited when your account is deleted and cannot be transferred or refunded, unless the law requires otherwise. If you have wallet credit you want to use, spend it before requesting deletion.

5. What we retain and why

Some records must be kept to meet our legal, tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations. Where we keep such records after deletion, we retain them in a de-identified or legally-required form. Retained records are not used to re-identify you or to market to you.

Wherever possible, these records are stripped of details that identify you personally, or are aggregated so that they can no longer be linked back to you.

6. Timeline

After we verify your request, we begin the deletion process and complete it within a reasonable period - normally up to 30 days. Once your data has been deleted, we confirm by email or a message to your registered number. Records covered in Section 5 are retained only for as long as the law or our stated purposes require.

7. Effect of deletion

Deletion is permanent. Your account, order history, wallet balance, and saved preferences cannot be recovered once removed. If you want to use Magau again in the future, you are welcome to - you would simply sign up again as a new user with your phone number.
